How we work
The price is in writing
We come out and walk the yard with you first. You get a written number before anybody starts, and the visit costs you nothing.
We haul it off
Clippings, brush, branches and junk all go in our trucks, and the driveway gets blown down before we pull out. Your own bins stay empty.
Reno is hard on a yard
Between the hard freezes and what water costs here, a lot of what looks good at the nursery in May is dead by February, so we plant and set timers for the ground we actually have.
You get a person
Call or text on a weekday and you reach someone who has worked in yards like yours, usually the same day.
Getting started
Tell us what is bugging you
Call, text or email, and send a photo if you have one handy. It usually saves everybody a trip.
We walk it with you
We look at the yard, tell you what we would do and what it would cost, and leave that with you in writing.
We do it and clean up
We turn up on the day we said we would, do the work, and take everything we cut or pulled away with us.

Good care, every season
We plow driveways and walkways and we do commercial lots. Put us on for the whole season, or call us storm by storm. We agree on the work before the first storm.
We run trucks, a UTV plow and blowers. Call before winter, because the night of the first storm is too late to get a route sorted.
Your yard this month
January
Keep an eye on the snow load
Heavy wet snow splits shrubs and young trees. Knock it off branches with a broom rather than pulling, and keep walks clear so ice does not set under the next fall.
February
Prune while everything is dormant
This is the right window for shaping most trees and shrubs, before the sap moves. Cuts made now heal cleanly in spring, and the structure is easy to see with no leaves on.
March
Wake the yard up
Spring cleanup, then sprinklers back on and checked zone by zone for anything that split over winter. Pre emergent goes down this month if you want to stay ahead of the weeds rather than chase them.
April
First mows and fresh beds
Mowing starts in earnest. Beds get weeded and topped up with bark or rock, which is the cheapest thing you can do to make a yard look finished.
May
Plant now, before the heat
Anything going in the ground wants to be in before June so the roots take hold. Irrigation gets tuned properly for the season rather than left on a winter schedule.
June
Set the mower higher
Longer grass shades its own roots and holds water, which matters once we are into the nineties. Deep and infrequent watering beats a little every day.
July
Water early, not at midday
Most of a midday watering evaporates before it does any good. First light is the window. This is also when a broken head or a blocked zone shows up as a brown patch.
August
Shear back and hold on
Shrubs get a trim, beds get weeded, and the lawn just needs to survive the month. Anything that looks dead by now usually is, and autumn is the time to replace it.
September
The best planting month of the year
Warm soil and cool air are what new roots want. Aerate and overseed now and the lawn comes back thicker next spring, better than anything a May seeding will give you.
October
Book the sprinkler blowout
A system left charged through the first hard freeze splits underground where you cannot see it. Late October into November is the window here, and the last two weeks fill up every year.
November
Last cleanup, first snow
Leaves off the lawn before they mat down and kill the grass underneath. Snow contracts get set now, because the night of the first storm is too late to arrange a route.
December
Snow, and not much else
The yard is asleep. Keep walks and drives clear, watch for ice where the sun never reaches, and leave the pruning until February.
Reno sits high and dry, so the calendar here is not the one on the back of a seed packet. If you want any of it done, ask us.
